Serdar graduated from Istanbul Technical University, maritime transportation management engineering bachelor’s degree program at Faculty of Maritime in 2010. He acquired seagoing experience as a watch-keeping officer and Chief Officer onboard bulk carriers and Ro-Ro ships for four years at the outset of his career.

Before joining Mentor Marine Consultants in 2025, he served as a marine surveyor for two international marine surveying firms, where he represented P&I clubs and underwriters for nine years. He has been primarily responsible for Condition Surveys, P&I damages, and claims since joining the firm in 2025. He holds a Master’s degree in Maritime Safety, Security, and Environmental Management program from Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir, in 2020.
